The Education Circle of Change
has produced notable results. This Circle has had a profound impact on
both the US Social Forum and the Education Revolution Conference (AERO).
The People’s Assembly on Education at the US Social Forum ratified the
Education Circle of Change’s statement of principles as its own:
The Education Circle of Change mobilizes educators, organizers, parents and youth in building a national movement for visionary transformation of public education so that teaching and learning embody and cultivate democratic, resilient communities within thriving ecosystems. Our 2011 national Education Circle of Change gathering of educators, organizers, parents and youth illuminated the importance of trans-local organizing to transform our public education system.This year, in partnership with several members of the ECoC, we will be holding local and regional gatherings throughout the country.
